The view from the roof of my office.

I have no idea if you can see, but there is an 18-home golf course then a military airbase. Because apparently Su-27 fighter jets really help you concentrate when teeing off.

It is rather cool to see though.

Saturday mornings are weird

I should lie in, but I never can. That’s one thing about living abroad - you feel guilty if you sleep too much, as if you’re somehow worried that you’ll miss something totally foreign and awesome because you over slept.

The reality is I’m drinking coffee, listening to prayers from the Hindu temple next door and cursing the squirrels who are making a helluva racket running across my skylight.

All my favourite things in India happen at dusk anyway: the call to prayer from the mosque next door to the Hindu temple; the churches dressed up for congregation at the church next to the mosque (there is religion everywhere here); the strangely spooky sunsets: the pubs getting busy and the families taking a sunset walk in the park.

Oh, and the wild dogs tend to shut the hell up for a while.

Anyway, back to my coffee.
